The Hollywood Bowl is a large amphitheater located in the Hollywood Hills. It was originally constructed in the 1920s and subsequently rebuilt around 2004.
The name of the venue stems from the fact that it is located in a natural bowl of a hill.
In addition to being home to the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the 18,000 seat amphitheater hosts all sorts of musical concerts and other events.
A number of significant musical events took place at Hollywood Bowl.
The Beatles, for example, performed at the Bowl in 1964 and 1965. Their live album entitled "The Beatles at Hollywood Bowl" resulted from one of the concerts.
Singer-actress Cher performed the last two concerts or her Farewell Tour at the Hollywood Bowl.
